Funka’s revisions have become synonymous with testing the accessibility of a website. Our surveys not only involve technology, but also pedagogy and language. We are alone in offering that. We also test Flash, search engines, PDF, Web content managing systems and online-TV. Funka’s surveys have no less than 273 validation points for accessible information.

Funka’s surveys give our customers the possibility to choose how they want their material analyzed. They can analyze each area separately, get a broader perspective of their functionality or focus on a specific area.

All of Funka’s work is based upon WCAG 2.0 and our entire methodology is tested on users with different abilities and in a close relation with the handicap movement.

We have also complemented WCAG with validation points of our own, since we know that for example navigation and search functions affect people’s ability to use the website. As an example there is in the WCAG a point that states that there should be a search function. We do not think that that is enough. Therefore, we also test that they work somewhat satisfactorily before we approve it. The concept of navigation is in the WCAG missing completely but is extremely important to the users nonetheless.

Funka’s surveys can be ordered at three different levels

•  Revision 
•  Overview
•  Status survey

The Revision is our biggest survey. It consists of an approved/non-approved checklist. Inside there is also a description of which groups that are affected by each part and a list of prioritized measures/solutions. The Revision survey is delivered personally, at a meeting, where we step by step, in detail, go over the report. You and your supplier will of course have the opportunity to ask questions and discuss how to handle further suggestions.

The Overview consists of everything except the solutions/measures. The pedagogic overview does not go quite as deep in the structure as the revision. You can of course purchase the solutions/measures separately at another time if you like. The overview is delivered personally, at a meeting, where we step by step, in detail, go over the report. You and your supplier will of course have the opportunity to ask questions and discuss how to handle further suggestions.

The Status survey consists only of the approved/non approved checklist of any eventual problems we have found. This product is first and foremost thought of as a test of acceptance before launching a new website. It serves as an excellent product when ensuring that your supplier/developer has done what he was hired to do. It takes some basic knowledge to comprehend the result, but you can of course purchase support by the hour when ordering a Status survey. Personal meeting is not included.

The surveys are done by our accessibility experts and by persons with and without assistive technology. Our work is based upon the W3C guidelines and everything we recommend is tested in reality with real people.
